Can injector cleaner foul plugs? The £80 Micra broke down and wouldn’t start yesterday, the plugs (nearly new) were filthy and it’s not burning oil or anything like that. I noticed my friend put in waaaay too much injector cleaner, reckon that could be the cause of the fouling?
It fired straight up after giving the plugs a good clean.

I would think so since nothing else changed. I must say, the way they tow cars there is so humorous.

Bad things can happen if you don’t set that up right:

Generally no, but adding additional solvent _may_ break loose some other crap in the system that could clog up a fuel filter or injector. It’s always a risk... But usually no, it just burns it’s way through.
(edit to add more thoughts)
The plugs may be fouled for whatever the other reason is that it broke down. For example, if the ignition stopped firing properly, the plugs would be a mess.

Ignition system was good with a strong spark and the car has a new fuel filter. Plus the tank was drained and refilled when we got it. It does put too much fuel in when starting which occasionally floods it though (needs a new coolant sensor) so that might have a part in it.
